Pollards Hill Park Viewpoint (Southerly direction)
A stunning panorama photograph taken from the viewpoint of Pollards Hill Park, April 2023. A fairly light 4 knot wind was blowing in from the North West, this wind direction typically provides us a clear air mass and allows for the farthest-reaching views. Summer months are normally heavily inverted with a thin yellow haze that can spoil the crispiness of the horizon. Croydon’s town centre ‘skyscrapers’ pierce the horizon - the worlds tallest modular housing scheme known as Ten Degrees (construction completed in 2021) and Europe’s tallest modular building, currently under construction, are nigh on completely obscured by Saffron Square’s Pinnacle tower (the blue, purple and pink tower). The famous 300ft ikea towers (the old Victorian power station chimney stacks) are in the centre.
